One of the strategic objectives of DFW Airport is the achievement of
operational excellence through the implementation of sustainable
practices.
The renovation utilizes sustainable design guidelines
established in the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
Board Green Building Standards.
The project goal is a renovation
by removal of all finishes, including ceiling, wall, and floor tile,
toilet partitions, plumbing fixtures, lavatories, counters, doors, and frames.
The Design provides new finishes, color schemes, the lavatory, and fixture types.
The restrooms are intended to be
state of the art that may serve as a prototype for other DFW
restrooms.
SDS Architecture was the selected Architect of Record for the
project.
The design work was completed using the BIM technology.
The construction cost limitation for the project was
$ 1,000,000.00.
